Talel Abdessalem is currently a Professor at Telecom ParisTech and head of the IC2 group. The group is composed of ten senior researchers and a dozen of postdoc and PhD students, with strong expertise in the foundations of database systems, web data management, human-computer interaction and cognitive science.
Talel Abdessalem is the author and co-author of more than fifty technical publications in international conferences and journals, national conferences, and book chapters. His main research interests are in large-scale data management and mining, recommender systems and predictive analytics, web information extraction, large graphs and social networks analysis. Talel Abdessalem participated and led research actions in national and European research projects (IP/FP7, ANR, FEDER, …) for several years, and supervised and co-supervised about ten PhD.
Talel Abdessalem received an Habilitation degree (HDR) from the University Pierre & Marie Curie, a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University Paris-Dauphine and a Master degree in IT from the University of Paris II (Institut IMAC). He spent two years as an assistant professor at the University of Paris-Dauphine, before joining Telecom ParisTech (formerly ENST) in 1998.
